My life started in Villahermosa, a small town in the south of Mexico, all of my family live there. After high school, I wanted to study something related with technology because at that moment, I thought it was something that was (and still is) changing the world.
University.
My parents did not have money to pay for my career, so I started a 2 years Associated Degree on Networking and Telecommunications -which was cheaper-, and I got a scholarship. At this point of my life, CISCO technologies were deeply ingrained on my mind, and after a Visual Basic class, started to consider software development as something serious.
When I finished school, my plans were the usual: find a job and pay my career. I had two options, continue with Electronics and Telecomm or change my path to Computer Systems, of course I chose the latter.
I applied to a university who offered me to validate some of my previous courses and a 40% scholarship and found a job in a company installing and giving maintenance to PoS terminals.
My first job as a developer.
Always wanted to find a city with more opportunities than my hometown, after university I moved to Guadalajara, a city where technology is growing more than any other place in Mexico and startups are a really hot topic, some media call it the Mexican Silicon Valley.
Living now without my family and being in a new city didn’t prevent me to achieve my goal: I wanted to pursue a professional career as software engineer.
I never stop until I found the right job in Guadalajara.
Andy Kieffer and his team gave me the opportunity to start working on real projects. I worked for 1 year and a half at AgaveLab, but I wanted more.
My life in Monterrey.
In 2013 I moved to Monterrey, Mexico to work with Cemex, a building company who was creating new technology for internal use. After Cemex I worked in Accenture looking for more things to learn and more experience to gain, a change in the kind of projects and clients. My experience in Accenture was good, I learned a lot about front-end development and I wanted to stay there for long but my life plans changed.
NYC, a new adventure.
Love, and the opportunity to grow in my career in a different place, made me move to NYC.
I moved here to live with the love of my life, he is from NY and we have plans together.
It was not just to start a new life with someone, it was the idea of a new challenge in my career. Like in the past I won’t stop, my passion for my career led me in the past to amazing experiences and great companies. I believe now I will find the right company where I will share my knowledge, learn more and make a better world with code by my side.
